Short break from studying for a few words

First and foremost, Congrats to the FLORIDA GATORS for winning the SEC CHAMPIONSHIP!!

We have proven to be truly "Orange and blue victorious" and I have high hopes for the BCS Championship.

I'm in the library right now and it's cool to see so many students intently studying. We might know how to party hard, but we know how to study hard as well. Football AND Academics are what make this school so awesome.

On another note, my family is on the Disney cruise right now. Second time they've gone without me and I've never been. Last night, I didn't get to watch my beloved Gators win the title, nor did I get to attend my floor's Christmas party before heading to my friends' Christmas party, and participate in my floor's scavenger hunt after. By the pictures, all of these things seemed like a blast. Even my non-spontaneous friend who sets alarms on her phone to keep herself on track rushed to University Avenue to holler and cheer for the gators in a spirited revelry. I was at the library during these fun events, and at church, so I could clear my Sunday.

I found unexpected insight at Jimmy Johns where I quickly had a sandwich before the library. There was a sign that said something like "Do things you need to do when you need to do them and one day you will get to do things you want to do when you want to do them."

I had to study..and I will continue to study. I know what I need to do, and I can't compare what I need to with what other people need to do and the choices they make.

God has given me work this weekend for a reason. And I have no problem with working hard and missing out on a few things to do well in school and get to have fun later. There will other be other parties. And, well..hopefully there will be more SEC championships. Even though, no, none of it will be the same.

I am confident though that everything works out in the end, and I have no regrets for this weekend. There are things that are more important than even football. Jesus carried his cross and I think I can miss some festivities to succeed in my role as a student. :-)
